Lyrics

Me and my ol' lady
Made a mess of our home

I blamed her
She blamed me
For what we would not own

Bumped into Hank
On our way
To buy mops, buckets, and brooms

He said

Whoa, what you need
Is a 9 gallon wet/n dry
Heavy duty shop vacuum

Sometimes it sucks
Sometimes it blows
It all depends
Where ya put the hose

It’s up to you
Which way it goes
Sometimes it sucks
Sometimes it blows

Then ol’ Hank said

You listen to me
I’m a gonna be your coach

I know it’s tough
I believe in you
But, ya gotta have the
Right approach

Don’t try to take
The whole thing on
Just do it, room by room

Ya got each other
Ya got the tools
With yer heavy duty shop vacuum

Sometimes it sucks
Sometimes it blows
It all depends
Where ya put the hose

It’s up to you
Which way it goes
Sometimes it sucks
Sometimes it blows

I’d be remiss
If I said I didn’t wish
We knew this
As a new bride and groom

Now

Me and my missus
Clean all our messes

Room by room..

With our 5 horse power, 9 gallon
Wet n Dry Shop vacuum

Sometimes it sucks
Sometimes it blows
It all depends
Where ya put the hose

It’s up to you
Which way it goes
Sometimes it sucks
Sometimes it blows

It’s up to you,
Which way it goes
Sometimes it sucks
Sometimes it blows

Track Notes
---------------------------------------
This song is pretty much about working on marriage relationships, using the vernacular associated with shop-vac vacuum cleaners. Now, every time I use ours, it kind of makes me laugh (inside).

The 'Old Hank' in this song is definitely a nod to Hank Hill. I would really (really) like it if he sang the first 2 choruses, and the bulk of the second verse. If you're interested, Mike Judge, contact me :)
